The sluice is 24 feet long, enough room for 12 people. Customers purchase a bag of dirt, pour part of it into the panning screen, then in either an up and down motion or back and forth in the water they wash away all the dirt. Once the dirt has been washed away, they start searching the screen for their treasure. We tell them to look for anything with color, shine or unusual shape. Once they've gone through their bag of dirt we help them identify what they have found. We provied as much assistance as our guests need.
